I have an abundant amount of experience in tutoring various subjects including math and science from elementary school to college level classes. I currently hold a Bachelors of Science degree in Biology and a Doctoral degree in Podiatric Medicine. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have a vast background in genetics and medical sciences as a result of my professional medical training. I have taken an upper division 300 level genetics class in undergraduate school at the University of Stony Brook in NY and have much training in molecular and cellular biology as well as genetics from both College and Medical school that gives me the background necessary to tutor such a topic.
As a physician, I have taken classes in pharmacology and pharmacologic sciences while in medical school. In addition, I use pharmacologic sciences on a regular basis to determine proper prescription medication for my patients based on contraindications of pharmacologic agents as well as allergies and efficacy of pharmacologic agents.
