About Eric

I am a recent graduate of the College Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati with degrees in Music Education and Spanish. I recently returned from a contract in Europe with Royal Caribbean as an orchestra member and I am currently seeking to add more students to my private lessons studio. I work as a professional musician in the Cincinnati area playing saxophone, clarinet, and flute. I am comfortable teaching all levels on saxophone and all levels K-12 on clarinet and flute.

Another passion of mine is Spanish. Starting early in high school, I participated in a high intensity Spanish language program which sparked my ever- burning desire to learn about different cultures. In college, I studied for a semester in Santiago, Chile as a transfer student, where I developed the majority of my speaking abilities. I have since then spent extended periods of time on my own in Peru and Mexico living and studying their respective cultures.
Last but not least, my other passion is teaching. I have had multiple private lessons students in the past as well as teach at Turpin High School as a student teacher for a semester. There are very few things more satisfying in life than seeing one of your students develop and gain a passion of their own. I hope to hear from you soon!

I have experience tutoring math students up to middle school and early high school levels. I have college credits for in algebra, statistics, and calculus.

I have a major in Spanish and an ESL certification; I have worked in the Cincinnati Public School system with a handful of ELL students. I have also volunteered at Su Casa, a English language learning facility for students of all ages, where I ran English classes and planned out specific lessons. Having traveled and lived in different Latin American countries, I have a vast knowledge and appreciation different cultures, dialects, and also the Spanish language in general.

As stated above, I majored in Spanish and have spent nearly 9 years studying the language. Having traveled and lived in different Latin American countries as well as Spain, I also have a vast knowledge and appreciation different cultures, dialects, and of course the Spanish language in general.

I have a Music Education degree and I am qualified to teach all levels K-12. My main instrument is saxophone and I have vigorously studied the instrument for 11 years. I took private lessons for 6 years in the public school system and studied in one of the most prestigious music schools in the nation (CCM) for 5 years. I have experience playing professionally in Cincinnati and overseas. Music, and more specifically saxophone is what I am most passionate about. Through teaching, I hope to inspire and provide my students with the opportunity to feel the same passion I do about music.

My lessons are specifically designed around each individual student. I believe it is very important to have a good balance between what the student needs to develop to their full potential and what the student desires to learn.
I have a flexible schedule and am very willing to work around whatever obstacle may arise. I know how it feels to be left behind in a class or even not challenged by others. Taking private lessons for me was one of the best decisions I ever made in my life. It helped me get into college and develop skills that I thought I could never have. Please let me know if you are interested, I am will be more than happy to help!

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

I have a degree in Music Education from the Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati with a concentration in saxophone.
