Hi,

I hold a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering, so I have to know quite a bit of math and science for me to do well in my current job! I tutor on the side to keep up with my skills and to fulfill my passion for teaching. I am extremely passionate about math and science (especially chemistry in science, but I enjoy biology as well), and although I am not studying it, I am quite good at and love history, writing, and reading. I especially adore English grammar - in fact, I proofread scientific research papers before they are sent to scientific journals for publication quite regularly.

I have a fantastic academic record. I graduated with honors from my university - not an easy feat as an engineering major. I also earned a 4.0 GPA in my college preparatory high school, and I graduated as valedictorian. I definitely fully understand every single subject I tutor.

I have tutored many students through both university and high school between being a teaching assistant and private tutor. My basic approach to tutoring is to see why you are struggling. For most students, it is because they aren't quite up to scratch in fundamentals, and if that is the case I will focus on solidifying those with you. After that, I will work on the problems that not understanding fundamentals caused. If your fundamentals aren't the problem, usually a student doesn't understand something because it hasn't been explained in a way that they can understand, so I will do my best to find a way to best explain them to you. This method has worked with every single student I have tutored. I will NOT do your homework for you - I will simply try to help you learn enough so that you can complete it and, more importantly, understand it on your own.

I truly hope that you consider me for tutoring - I will do the absolute best job I can to help you succeed in your academic difficulties. There is nothing more that I enjoy than helping a struggling student.

I am familiar with all of the editions since then - I currently use Microsoft Word 2010, which is not too different from Microsoft Word 2007. I am also very familiar with Microsoft Word 2003 and the ones before that with the .doc system as opposed to the .docx.

Flute

I took private flute lessons for eight straight years. In that time, I won every local flute competition for five years by playing extremely difficult flute literature. I was also a member of a local student orchestra for five years, and I managed to make the top level of the orchestra in that time. I played in my elementary and middle school band and participated in marching band as well as the school band in high school. I have also taught several friends how to play the flute. My forte is teaching good, basic flute techniques that aren't necessarily taught in a band setting, where most beginning flute students learn.

Great approach

Providing AP statistics support for our senior. Great approach to breaking down the problems and making math easier to understand. Makes the student bring her along vs making the student follow them.

Very knowledgeable!

Great demeanor and had a lot of patience. Gave helpful insight as she tutored my son in AP Calculus. I would definitely recommend to anyone needing help in math.

Great results already!

Help with calculus and chemistry to prepare for exams was extremely helpful. A is very patient and willing to explain it in more than one way until the content is understood.

Got her through AP Calculus

A.P. worked with our daughter to get her through her high school senior year in AP Calculus. They spent a lot of time together, including occasional evening phone calls to help with homework. A.P. did a great job! Our daughter scored a 5 on the AP exam.
