Hi! I’m Michael, an Engineering Technology student at Kent State University Tuscarawas. I primarily tutor math through Algebra and basic Trigonometry, along with introductory physics, circuits, and electrical theory. Circuits and electrical concepts are my strongest areas because I use them regularly in my engineering coursework. I work best with middle school and early high school students (up to about sophomore level), helping build strong fundamentals before topics become overwhelming.

I have experience teaching in structured school settings. I taught two groups of approximately 15–20 middle school students the basics of coding, including how to build simple programs using a block-based coding platform and upload them to a microcontroller device. This gave me hands-on experience explaining technical concepts in a way that was engaging and age-appropriate. In vocational high school, I was also part of our student recruitment team, where I visited other schools and presented to freshmen and sophomores about our programs. Those experiences strengthened my communication skills and comfort speaking in academic environments.

My tutoring style is patient, organized, and step-by-step. I believe students succeed when concepts are broken down clearly and connected to real-world examples. I prefer to know the topic ahead of time so I can prepare and create a focused plan for each session. I’m especially comfortable helping with algebra, problem-solving, reading comprehension, and writing structure. I scored a 35 on the ACT Reading section, which reflects my strength in literacy and analysis. I come from a large family with eight siblings and am the second oldest, so adaptability and patience come naturally to me. I’ve also helped care for my younger siblings, including two little sisters with autism, which has further strengthened my ability to adjust to different learning styles.
