Malone University (Early Childhood Educ)
I am a 2nd grade teacher at a private school in Canton, Ohio. I have worked with children of all ages for the past eight years, from birth through college. I have been a daycare worker, helped college students one-on-one, and taught nature classes at a camp for inner city children in Los Angeles, California. I love watching children of all ages get excited about learning, and watching them gain understanding for themselves, empowering them to learn and do things they did not before.
I am married, and my husband and I love to travel. We have been able to see quite a bit of the world! We drove the iconic Route 66, taught English in Seoul, South Korea, and backpacked our way through Southeast Asia and parts of Europe. I like meeting people of all nationalities, and learning from their way of life. I love reading and singing. I enjoy trying new recipes and exercising.
Working one-on-one with students is rewarding in many different ways. Cultivating a personal relationship with a student is helpful to ascertain his or her learning styles quickly, to better aid him or her in the education process. Helping students achieve their goals is satisfying, and encouraging them to persevere through difficulties is rewarding.
I taught for a year in Seoul, South Korea. My students were preschool through sixth grade, and I taught all subjects, including TOEFL.
I am currently a 2nd grade teacher at a private school. I teach all subjects to inner city children, and I love what I do. Our school is training us on Classical Education, so I am adding that style of teaching to my skills.
I was a history major (along with Early Childhood Education) during university. Because of this, I have gained much knowledge on world events, and how they have affected humanity. During my travels, I also have visited numerous UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
Thank you for taking the time to read about me. If you are interested in working together, please don't hesitate to contact me. I look forward to helping you succeed! In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
