Hi, my name is Calyssa! I have about 3 years experience working with children ages 3 weeks to 15 years. I'm in pursuit of my Master's degree from The University of Akron to teach 7-12th grade English. I love working with others and teaching the art of communication through reading and writing. I have not yet experienced tutoring in a formal setting, but I've had many years of education and am confident that I can help you reach your goals.
What I love about tutoring is the one-on-one instruction that is difficult to find elsewhere. That type of instruction is so unique because the time is spent looking specifically at how you can improve your work which is exactly what my services intend to provide. In any tutoring session, it's important to assess the student's previous knowledge and construct a lesson based on the student's needs. In my years of higher education at The Ohio State University and The University of Akron, I've learned many ways to complete these tasks effectively.
I have taken and received outstanding grades for many Literature and English courses and can help you to do the same. I can teach you all that I have learned throughout my career as both an educator and a student.
Thank you for your interest in my tutoring services. I look forward to hearing from you! :) Hi, my name is Calyssa! I have about 3 years experience working with children ages 3 weeks to 15 years. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
