Reading is my passion! I read approximately two books per week (or 600 pages), and I am not a "speed reader" as defined by Evelyn Wood. The genres range from literature (Katherine Anne Porter, Ayn Rand or W. Somerset Maugham) to best-seller fiction to non-fiction, including topical, current events. Amy is a great tutor! In fact, she is very patient and works very hard with her students to break down and to make sure they understand what they are learning. She also has a good learning personality when communicating with her students to make sure they learn on their own. She was always on time, very professional and reliable when meeting up for a study session. I would recommend anybody to use Amy as a source of study when looking for a tutor! I haven't gone back to school since I graduated and always struggled with school so when I went back to school and finished my first semester in college I ended up with a 3.0! So long story short she's taught me great methods of studying and I been improving ever since! Thanks again Amy!
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

At Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, I completed several undergraduate classes in the religion department. The main concentration of these courses was the American religious experience from a historical perspective. Upon graduation, I accepted a Teaching Assistant's position at Miami U while completing Master's degree classes. The focus at this time included Mesoamerican (Aztecs & Mayans), Eastern (Buddhism, Hinduism, Taoism), Early Christianity (Paul 's experience). Also, included a teaching course and required graduate studies class on major philosophers of religious experience.
