About Amanda

Throughout high school, I tutored elementary school students in all subjects, in an after-school program. Following high school, I attended Zane State College for Sports and Fitness Management. While attending Zane State College, I was recommended to be a peer tutor for biology students. After graduating from Zane State College, I enrolled at Muskingum University. I am currently attending school there and am expected to graduate in May of 2017. I will earn my Bachelor's of Science in Community Health and Wellness. I am also currently serving with AmeriCorps as a College Completion Coach to struggling students on Zane State College's campus. I work with students to ensure they have knowledge of and access to the campus and community resources to help them succeed in their college career.

The students that I met through tutoring and my AmeriCorps service have become life-long friends. Tutoring is very personal. It exposes a different part of the person that you are not used to seeing on a daily basis. I love being there for students to help them along the way and watch them grow. For those students, tutoring has always been a stepping stone to something greater in their lives. They have forever impacted my life in a positive way.

Throughout school, I was enrolled in advanced math subjects. For my junior and senior years of high school, I attended math classes at the high school, as well as math classes at Ohio University - Zanesville. I tutored students in all general subjects, including math, in an after-school program.

My past experiences and present and future interests help to make me a great tutor. Tutoring benefits me as much as it benefits the students. Contact me to schedule your session!

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
