Cleveland State University (Other)
Hello! My name is Pam and I'm 28 years old. I graduated Cum Laude from Cleveland State University with a Bachelor of Science in Education. I am a certified teacher in grades Pre K-3 and am currently a substitute for the Strongsville City School System in all grades through 6!
I have a strong background in tutoring and advancing young children, ages 2-8 and I specialize in reading, language development and phonemic awareness.
I have always wanted to be a teacher for as long as I can remember and love interacting with children and instilling a passion for learning in them that they may not have had the chance to explore before.
I believe that all children are capable of greatness in their educational endeavors. Some may just need a little extra help to get there! I believe that given the right kind of guidance and instruction, any child is capable of exceptional learning!
My educational goals for your child will be based on his or her individual needs and will be determined on a one-on-one basis. Every child learns differently and while some methods may work well for one child, it doesn't necessary mean that they will work and be effective on another child. I believe that the best and most efficient way to help any child who is struggling is to take each case, one at a time, and evaluate my methods according to that particular child's needs.
I will work hard to keep your child stimulated and challenged without becoming overwhelmed. I believe that communication, positive reinforcement and guided instruction are among some of the best tools to help motivate and foster young minds when it comes to learning.
I charge 35 dollars per hour for my tutoring services. I am somewhat flexible with my tutoring schedule and do require a 24 hour cancellation notice but I do realize that emergencies happen and am open to occasional make-up classes, if needed. I generally suggest meeting at a midway point between myself and the student, such as a library or someplace similar.
I look forward to hearing from you and working with your child as we make our way towards educational success! Hello! My name is Pam and I'm 28 years old. She was very thorough in sharing how we could supplement her teaching lessons with my granddaughter it was a very positive session and we look forward to many more
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I am a certified teacher in grades Pre K-3. I am a very patient person and I am more than willing to work towards the overall goal, no matter now long that may take. All children are capable of learning, it's just a matter of how the teacher goes about it that can make all the difference! Every child learns differently and my methods will be based on the individual needs of each child I work with. I have worked with children, ages 2-8, in the past who have had Add/ADHD so I do have experience.
I graduated Cum Laude from Cleveland State University in 2011. I have a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education. I have a lot of experience tutoring children, ages 2-8, and my methods are based on the individual needs of the child because every child learns differently!
I am a certified teacher in grades Pre K-3. I have previously worked as a tutor for several years, helping young children hone their fine motor skills and maneuverability, as it pertains to learning how to write!
I have a background tutoring children, ages 2-8, in phonemic awareness. Because I am a certified teacher, I understand the importance that phonics plays in learning how to read and write! My teaching methods are based on the individual needs of each child and I believe that repetition is key in successfully learning about phonics!
I am qualified to teach spelling to young children because I have obtained my teaching degree from Cleveland State University in Early Childhood Education. I did my student teaching internship in a first grade classroom where we put a lot of out efforts into teaching spelling and understanding phonemic awareness. I was also an early childhood tutor, ages 2-8, for several years where I mostly taught spelling and phonics through the use of games, rhymes, specialized activities and repetition.
I am qualified to teach study skills to children because I am a certified teacher in grades Pre K-3. I believe that all children can develop good study skills if given the proper guidance when developing their study habits. I believe it is key to emphasize the importance of studying as well as the reasoning behind it. Understanding how to properly organize thoughts and materials will greatly effect the outcome of a child's studies in a positive way. I believe that preparing children by explaining this and sharing these tools is the best way to get them ready for their educational futures.
