Hi! I am a professor at Wheeling Jesuit University but have the summer off. I teach Spanish classes during Fall and Spring semesters on Tuesday and Thursday, so I am also available the remaining days of the week for tutoring or related assistance! I have a strong love of teaching and learning, as well as a passion for people, in general. I love the interaction with students and watching them grow in their studies. I really enjoy learning and exploring study methods. This really gives me a unique devotion to assisting students longing to better themselves in academics. I have experience tutoring Spanish to young children, families looking to learn Spanish for travels or work, high school and college level students. I create my own worksheets and study tools, which are influenced from years of studying, living and studying in Spain, teaching at college level and tutoring. I like to make the experience perfectly customed to what the student wants and needs to reach their goal.

Spanish Professor at Wheeling Jesuit University, degree in Spanish- as well as marketing and international business, lived outside of Madrid, Spain and attended university courses & lived with a local family, tutoring experience for all ages.

I only use Mac/ Apple products at home and in the office. I can work with other brands, but I prefer Mac! I have experience in all areas of using Macs and integrating applications like Word, Excell, PowerPoint and more!

I was diagnosed with ADHD at 15 years old and have learned so much regarding coping with ADHD- especially in school related activities like studying, organization, maintaining and controlling focus, increasing material studied through methods, test taking, public speaking and time awareness. I have chosen to be proactive since the beginning and have always utilized a professional therapist to discover new methods and tips for living with ADHD- even in everyday situations. I am not against medication, but it's something I no longer desire. It takes a lot of trial and error, commitment to bettering yourself and positive attitudes, but you can use tools you find work best for you to manage your symptoms. I have learned methods as I have aged- I have different methods and strategies for different stages in my life- as a teenager, college students, young mom and working mom and wife. With ADHD, a little change or stressor can really alter which methods are most effective. For instance, in college, I would study vocabulary or memorize lists for exams while on the elliptical or treadmill. Studies show people with ADHD/ ADD who exercise while trying to study or learn material retain a significantly greater amount of information that when sitting at a desk. Major distractions are hard when it comes to studying with ADHD. Simultaneously exercising while learning is one way to better your abilities, but there are many more I have learned over the last 15 years. I worked hard, but maintained 3.89 throughout high school and college while working on more than one degree. Tools work and can be a huge boost even if you take medication. You're mind is a powerful tool!

I played soccer until college level, due to a terrible ankle and foot injury which left me unable to continue playing at the collegiate level. I have played in Aruba, representing the USA and currently coach my own son's soccer team!

I am a really easy going, hard working, encouraging and welcoming person! 20 years ago, I would have never guessed I would be a professor, but God opened a door for me teaching Sunday school years ago and my love for education and teaching blossomed! It brings me so much joy! I am pretty flexible with hours!

I am an active member of The Vineyard in wheeling, WV and have been a volunteer in many areas since moving to the area. I have taught kindergarten- 2nd grade for the last four years, as well as 5th -8th grade teens. I feel the most joy teaching God's word and making it fun and simple to understand for young children. I also have participated in devotional groups and am leading one for women this summer. I come from a Christian household and was raised in the Lutheran church, and then Methodist when I was a teenager to be more involved with youth groups and church activities. I have a strong faith within me and I can't think of any job more rewarding than spreading God's word. I am a very open person and could sit with a group of devoted Christian or a group filed with atheists and be able to speak religion without making anyone feel insecure or not welcomed. I believe in sharing the message through experiences in my own life. I am not perfect, as is no one, but I have seen where God has worked in my life, where my life was when I allowed God to fully lead me and I have many experiences of times when I tried to stray or he Lord wasn't always on my mind. I truly believe that my own moments of weakness were lessons and each moment was overcome by the will of God- and I witnessed his direct effect on myself, as well as many others. My entire family has relied on God's grace to get through multiple illness and deaths in the family, addiction, divorce, moving, becoming a parent, losing jobs, and the list goes on. God has always calmed my mind in troubled times and gave he ability to stand strong with his shield of love, forgiveness and unending grace. To have the ability to possibly share anything about HIM to anyone would be an honor.
