Bowling Green State University (MCE Math and Science)
During High School I excelled in AP and Honors math classes all four years and passing my exams, worked at Wayne State University in Detroit, MI teaching for a accelerated mathematics program to assist in teaching middle school and high school students, and tutored college students in intro level college courses.
I attained my bachelor of science degree from Bowling Green State University in December of 2014. My concentration was middle school mathematics and science (grades 4-9). During my study at BGSU I've tutored 1st grade reading, 1st and 2nd grade math, 9th-12th grade math, 10th grade science, and 5th grade math. I did my methods block at Ft. Meigs Elementary School in Perrysburg for 5th grade math and science.
I enjoy tutoring and instructing students because I can be creative, nurture to good foundations, integrate among subjects, appeal to different learning styles, and get to learn student's strengths to better assist them in using those to overcoming their weaknesses. No individual can like or excel in every task placed on their path; that does not mean that they cannot develop a strong foundation and understanding of these tasks. Real world application, differentiation, aids, resources, structure, integration, and support are all huge parts of a SUCCESSFUL educational process; I use these tools to help aid in instructing each student to give them their best educational outcome.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
