History has been a degree of choice in my family. My grandfather, mother and I have all obtained degrees in History. I am also a writer and I am constantly writing plays about historical figures. I love to read James Mischner, author of several historical novels. This also helps bring my subject to life. I like to get my students to think about how the social, political and economic trends of the time contributed to historical events. I have a lot of tricks for memorizing dates and events--a task needed to be conquered to be a great historian.
I have several ways to help kids learn how to write eloquent paragraphs, having been a reporter for three years and also having acquired my Masters from the State University of New York, New Paltz in Secondary Education for Social Studies. I ask students to circle words in the question to use in their answer so that their responses are more directly related to the question.
I am an enthusiastic historian and I would love the opportunity to prove that I can get your child to become a historical scholar in no time at all.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
