Makes you feel comfortable and she is very knowledgeable Thanks to Katie I was able to score a B on my test. I felt more confident when doing the test. I would definitely recommend her.. Thank you so much Katie.
Katie worked with our daughter on AP Statistics. We have worked with Katie on other high-level math topics as well. She has a broad base of knowledge and connects very well with students.
Immediately put my daughter at ease. Within a short period was able to ascertain her needs and help her understand the concepts she was struggling with. At the end of the session my daughter was excited about her favorite subject again. Thanks Katie!
Katie is a great tutor. My daughter has a grasp on her math that her high school teacher hasn't been able to convey. I'm very thankful to have found such a great tutor for my daughter!
My daughter looks forward to her tutoring sessions with Katie. She has really helped her confidence and her success in Algebra. Katie has been very flexible with her schedule, even extending a tutoring session when my daughter needed extra help. She is easy to get in touch with and always is on time. I highly recommend her!
Katie has been a blessing for my son. He had very low self confidence regarding ANY math, let alone stats! He would give up in frustration and have a mental block in continuing the problems. Katie showed him very patiently how to stop and evaluate the problem before he even started. She gave him tools to identify and tackle each homework problem as they worked on them together, and then on his own. He began tutoring with a poor grade in stats. A month later, he earned the second highest grade on his last exam. We are sooooo thankful for Katie's encouragement, knowledge and instruction. It is a gift she has, really.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
As an AP Calculus teacher, algebra must be very strong. I reteach several algebra topics to my students. I also teach honors freshmen which deals with algebra 1 and algebra 2 topics.
Algebra 2 is one of the most common courses in our curriculum. I tutor it often. Whenever precalculus or calculus is tutored, a lot of the struggle comes from Algebra 1 and 2 topics.
I currently teach AP Calculus at a nearby high school.
I tutor all levels of math, including 6th, 7th, and 8th grade math. Prealgebra is taught starting at a young age and needs to be fully grasped and understood. I thoroughly enjoy the ins and outs of PreAlgebra and enjoy helping young students grasp these concepts.
As an AP Calculus teacher we review Pre-Calculus topics in depth during the summer and to start the school year. I feel very confident in teaching and tutoring Pre-Calculus.
As a previous AP Statistics teacher and a current statistics teacher, probability is a huge part of the curriculum. I believe that my abilities in probabilities is just as strong as my abilities in statistics. I can confidently tutor in probability.
I have coached varsity softball for 2 years. I was the varsity assistant for one year and we went to regional finals! I have been the varsity head coach for 1 year, and will be starting my second year as the head coach. Softball is a great sport to coach and I love helping the girls improve!
As a previous AP Statistics teacher, I am very confident in teaching and tutoring statistics. I also have taught regular statistics for five years. I run my regular statistics class similar to an AP Stats class. The material is rigorous.
Teaching Honors Integrated Algebra and Trig, I am very well versed in doing Trigonometry. In most of the courses I teach we do different levels of Trigonometry. I enjoy the trig applications in all of math.
I have been coaching volleyball for 4 years. I coached freshmen volleyball for 2 years at two different schools and I have been the varsity assistant for 2 years. I hope to have my own program one day. I play throughout the year and love the game!
