Rhode Island College (Elementary Education)
As an educator and school leader with over eighteen years of experience, and exceptional organization and planning skills, I am eager to put my skills and talent to use helping your child reach their full potential.
I have spent the majority of my career as a classroom teacher, not only teaching early childhood, elementary and middle school students but also developing and engaging in programs to educate professionals and the greater external community. Organization, planning and a passion for guiding a child's development are key components to becoming a successful educator and caregiver.
As a proven educator and school leader, there are many aspects of my work that would serve me well as a tutor.
Management with a focus on the interpersonal connection: Classroom teaching and supporting novice teachers requires me to guide students to meet both long and short-term objectives and goals based on the individual needs of the learner.
Monitoring, assessing and problem solving: Effectual curriculum instruction depends upon continuous monitoring and assessment of student understanding and the effectiveness of my instruction. In addition, I am skillful at anticipating potential obstacles and creating alternative plans. I frequently assess student outcomes, instructional practices, and curriculum effectiveness and take corrective actions if necessary.
Communication and collaboration: I effectively and frequently communicate and collaborate with various constituencies including parents, colleagues, community members and students.
During my eighteen years of teaching, I enhanced, planned and implemented a humanities curriculum within a supportive and inclusive classroom environment. I partnered with grade level teams, academic support staff, and tutors to provide individualized instruction for each student. I always keep current with best practice, including, though not limited to, national standards, and educational research.
I would love the opportunity to meet with you and discuss the value that I can bring to your family As an educator and school leader with over eighteen years of experience, and exceptional organization and planning skills, I am eager to put my skills and talent to use helping your child reach their full potential.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
