About Natasha

I am a recent college graduate from Ohio University. I majored in anthropology and received my diploma with cum laude status and departmental honors. I have experience in academic research, with a published thesis focusing on historical data, genealogy, and socioeconomic status. I enjoy a wide variety of subjects including social sciences, English, reading, and natural sciences.

My prior work experience makes me extremely qualified to be an excellent tutor. I have taught university level lab sessions accommodating to large groups of diverse students at once. I enjoy seeing others learn, and I love helping students meet their goals! While in college, I organized and ran a student organization that helped students develop professional and academic skills to help them succeed. The society also facilitated mentorships with students unfamiliar with our discipline or university life. I actively mentored students helping them succeed in class and in the academic setting.

Although my most recent work has been in a post secondary setting, I do enjoy working with younger children and have experience working with elementary aged children. In the past, I have been involved with reading groups advocating youth literacy and the love of reading.

I am extremely passionate about science and have been as long as I can remember. In high school I was always placed in honors classes and did extremely well. During college, I took as many science classes as possible, always looking for more. My curriculum in college focused on osteology and archeology, where I took part of a 12 week field school on an archeological site. Today, I keep up to date on scientific discoveries and continue to work on my own research.

Please feel free to contact me, I try to accommodate and assist students in any way that I can. I do have a 24-hour cancellation notice, but do encourage make-up sessions. My sessions will only take place in a public setting, preferably a library or other learning conducive environment.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
