I have been a teacher in math, science and special education for 22 years. I currently teach math intervention to students with and without disabilities. I am very good at helping students understand the material and have been told I am excellent at assisting students who feel totally lost. I love teaching and have three children who all successfully completed college with four year degrees, which I feel is a great accomplishment.
I love tutoring because I get the chance to explain material in a different and new way than how a teacher in school might explain it. Also, I love watching students learn and succeed!
I know my subject matter. I have both a bachelor's degree and master's degree in education and mathematics. I am a working and licensed teacher for all mathematics subjects, general science and special education. I also have taught employability skills to students when teaching.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have a bachelors and masters degree in mathematics, including Algebra 1.
I am a math and science teacher and currently use the Common Core to develop lesson plans. Having read through the standards, I have organized the standards into themes. For each theme, the overarching project for school is selected that best meets all the standards and objectives for mathematics and science. I use progress monitoring to evaluate the students achievement as they progress through the common core.
I am currently licensed in Ohio as an intervention specialist for kindergarten to 12th grade. I have worked in schools with kindergarten to 8th grade. Additionally, I tutor students in writing, reading, math and social studies who are in elementary school.
I have been both a school administrator and teacher for the past 24 years. Additionally, I hold two masters degrees (one in administration, the other in special education) and worked primarily with at-risk youth and dropout recovery. Having to work with various clientele from culturally-diverse backgrounds and vast arrays of economic situations leads me to believe I understand and can explain Sociology in a realistic and impartial manner.
I hold a bachelor's degree in mathematics and science education. Also, I am great at differentiated lessons since I work with special education and assisting students one-on-one. My track record demonstrates an increased jump of grades by two levels (i.e.: from a "C" to an "A") on average.
