Ellen is an excellent tutor. She has the patience to deal with me and taught me a lot.

I can honestly say I've learned more from her than my teachers. If you need a tutor, I highly recommend her!

Ellen is very committed to my son's success in algebra. She is also patient and thorough. We have greatly appreciated her flexibility and good communication.

Ellen was great! I knew she was doing a good job when my son who dislikes school in general was asking to go back to see her! Thanks Ellen!

Lots of people may know how to get to the answer but not many can relay that and help explain how they got there. Ellen has been a great tutor who makes sure I understand before we move on. I recently went from a C to a B on my exam! :)

Math:

Approved subjects are in **bold**.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

I have my Masters in Special Education. I have taught math to ADD/ADHD students at all levels from Elementary to College.

I have my Masters in Special Education. I have taught math to students with many disabilities including students with Aspergers at all levels from Elementary to High School.

I have my Masters in Special Education. I have taught math to students with many disabilities including students with Dyslexia at all levels from Elementary to College. I help the student deal with number reversals.

I have taught math for 37 years to students from Middle School to High School. (grades 6th to 12th.) I have also volunteered with students in Elementary School (K-6th)since I have been retired. I hear parents say that they don't understand the "new math". In my opinion, Math does not change. What changes is the approach to teaching certain concepts. I have my Masters in Special Ed but I consider all students special.
