I am an active, professional musician and mother of three children, two of whom are in college, and the last one, in high school. Over the years, I have played the organ, piano, harpsichord, and violin. I can teach you how to understand notes, or play any of those instruments. While the pipe organ is my main instrument, my passion is to help students attain success in executing the notes on the page. Once they can read music, phrasing and line help shape notes into real music with emotional value!
While my degrees have been in music, I have always had jobs that required writing. I have written numerous articles for newsletters, schools, arts organizations, churches, and promotional advertising. I also have experience with essay writing, creative writing, and copy-editing. It is easy for me to spot the sentence that needs to be re-written, and I have been able to use this gift in helping my children and husband with many diverse projects.
I am an outstanding English tutor because of my attention to detail, interesting sentence structure, grammar, and my patience with the student. You will do the writing, but I will teach you how to make it better. In proofreading, the art of word-smithing comes in handy and you will become fluent.
I am a wonderful music teacher because I truly want the student to be able to make music themselves. I can help you to understand the "how" of producing music that has energy, life, and joy. I will teach you at your own speed and at your own level.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
My current jobs require that I be able to play the piano. I perform (professionally) in churches and I use my abilities to accompany choirs, and congregations. In addition to this, I have a Bachelor's degree and Master's degree in Organ Performance. I have been playing keyboards for over 40 years and have had many private students.
