Hi,
I thought I'd provide some history about why I started tutoring with this website. A good portion of my part-time job income during college came from tutoring for introductory math and economics classes. After college, where I graduated with a Mathematics/Economics major, I started working as an actuary. A lot of my actuarial work included developing complex mathematical models for insurance, then using those models to help companies determine how to invest insurance premiums to...

A MUST hire
Ken is not only an expert on his subjects, but he comes both patient and prepared. He explains well and guides you to the point of a much stronger understanding of the subject matter. I'd recommend Ken to anyone ranging from Junior High on through Master's level students. If you are struggling and want someone who can help make sure you get the best grade possible, develop a mastery of the subject matter, and someone who comes having thoroughly reviewed your material and eliminates wasted time: you need Ken as your tutor.

Knowledgable tutor
He taught me college level modern math. He was on time and taught clearly and I was able to grasp the material by the end of the hour. He let me do the problems and did not do them for me which helped me learn.

Phenomenal, incredibly knowledgeable, and patient-with-repetition tutor.
I reached out to Ken on the first day of a Master’s level Economics course, as I was incredibly anxious from the calculations within the first assignment. My first observation on WyzAnt’s website was the ‘Tutor Response Time’. Ken responded very quickly, less than 4 hours, just as the website noted which eliminated my anxiety. Ken’s tutoring approach is clear, concise, and as he accurately states, "Aligns with the student needs according to how the student would like to apply it in the future.” Ken helped me not only pass the course with a superb grade, but I also have a greater understanding of Economics.

Incredibly Intelligent
I am doing an online LPN to RN program. The other classes were all fine, and then came math. I simply am not able to learn math myself, having no structure was just destroying me. Ken has been wonderful. He is very intelligent and is able to explain things so that I actually kind of get it. he is breaking it up into small manageable chunks and giving me assignments. I am confident that with his help I will be able to pass my exam. Any time I have texted or emailed him he replies very promptly. - update - I want to update this now that we have been working together for a while. When I would look at these assignments in the beginning it looked like it was all in French. I had no clue. And while I can't say I know every answer now, at least when I look at the problem I know what they're talking about. I don't have that stab of panic, the I know nothing, I'm going to fail mentality. Ken has showed me, very patiently, that math really is just a (ton) of formulas. once those are understood, math is (almost) tolerable. I was very hesitant about getting help. it's embarrassing to show someone how totally inept you are at something. I have never once gotten that "How does someone not know this?" vibe from him at all. - update - I PASSED! I Passed, I Passed, I Passed, I Passed, I Passed, I Passed, I Passed, I Passed, I Passed, I Passed!!!

Super patient
Ken is the most patient instructor I know. I wish he taught Economics at my University. I am the worst student. (not very bright), he is awesome.

Teaches in a way my son understands
My son came home with a math test looming the next day and did not have any clue as to how to understand the material. He spent one hour going over the subject matter with Ken and the next day took his test. He got 30/30!

Very impressed with Ken!
This is our first experience with a tutor. My grandson's Algebra II grade has jumped two letter grades after just two sessions with Ken. Ken is very patient, shows up on time, and is quick to return your calls. So far I'm very impressed.

Learning Nick
My grandson is happy with Ken and pleased that he "showed not told" how to do the work. As this was their first session together there was, as required, some getting to know one another. Ken was straight to the point. My grandson needed a little - "Hi, how are you. What are your problems etc." My grandson started off acting very self assured, however Ken brought him to a comfort level of saying, "oh, I get it now" or "how does this go?" As my grandson has mid-terms next week we have asked Ken, and he confirmed, he would come on Thursday of this week as well. At this point he has a 41.7% F; there's a lot to dig out of. We look forward to the climb with Ken. Again, my grandson was comfortable with Ken - that's the key.

Outstanding Tutor
Ken's Excel expertise was invaluable to me. I explained to him my needs and he was very perceptive as to what needed to be done to complete my project. Ken outlined his suggested steps on how to proceed and he completed the task expeditiously! Ken is very professional, personable and proficient.

Good Actuary Tutoring
Ken was knowledgeable about the topic - pretty much, he understood the practice questions and knew how to answer them right away. This is good as you don't want a tutor that's going to "um" "aah" "er" throughout your session wasting the time that you're paying for. Ken was patient. He's on-time and professional.
