Growing up in New York City, I’ve always been inspired by what’s around me, observing the world around me helps me see a different perspective of the world. This is reflected in my work. I strive to forge new ground and create engaging designs for all forms of media. I've built a solid foundation of skills that I still use today. It started with my passion for drawing, which led me to be accepted to the highly regarded High School of Art & Design in New York City. Once there, I thrived in the creative yet competitive environment. I excelled in classes such as illustration, cartooning, painting and photography. My goal was to be a creative professional, so the next logical step was the School of Visual Arts, also in New York City. I studied with instructors who were the top talent in their field. My studies included typography, advertising, graphic design, digital art, sculpture, animation among other elective courses. I graduated with a 3.9 GPA and quickly started working professionally in the design industry. I've worked at small design firms and large corporations as well. I've helped build some of the biggest brands in the entertainment industry such as Comedy Central, HBO, WWE Network, Throughout my career I've gained knowledge and wisdom that can only be attained from working in an industry for over 20 years. There are many choices for tutoring on this site and other sources as well. For anyone who is interested in hiring me as a tutor, I'll say this: Being creative is not simply knowing Photoshop or InDesign. It is a process of creative problem solving. Software like Photoshop or InDesign or Illustrator are merely tools to help you execute your ideas. There are many who call themselves graphic designers, I'll teach you how to be a designer whose work stands above the work of others.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
From the basics to more advanced rendering techniques, I can show students how to create anything from icons to illustrations using the tools in Adobe Illustrator. More advanced lessons include more realistic rendering, creating 3D objects, and using smart objects in conjunction with Adobe Photoshop.
I have designed major advertising campaigns for Comedy Central, HBO and Turner Entertainment. I received my training at Noble Desktop in the Digital Publishing Suite and I am an active Member of the Adobe Indesign User Group here in New York. In addition, I am a graduate of the School of Visual Arts where I received my BFA in Graphic Design. I a 20 year veteran of the advertising, design and publishing industry. In addition I've given lectures to various high schools addressing career options in emerging job markets.
I have been using a Mac and PC for over 20 years as a professional graphic designer in New York City. I teach the basics as well as more advanced subjects such as the use Adobe Creative Suite applications to create web sites, web banners, posters, magazines, logos, etc. I am well versed in either PC or Mac environments.
I was born in Greece and my family and I came to the U.S. in 1969. My parents only spoke Greek, so I learned the language at young age. In addition, I also attended 10 years of Greek school. I studied with teachers who were spoke the language fluently, and this helped me graduate as an honors student from Greek School. I still continue to speak Greek with most of my relatives, and this helps me maintain a mastery of the language. My lessons are geared for any one traveling to Greece, and is looking to communicate learn to speak like a native. With just a few shorts lessons I can teach you the basics they need to communicate effectively in the Greek language as well history and daily life. Greek phrases and more formal phrases, sentence structure, through interactive, attentive instruction.
