About Walter

Hello! My name is Walter C., and I am a recent PhD from one of the nation's top ranked anthropology programs. I've lived in Queens for 5 years, and currently hold a position at the New York Public Library (yes, the one with the lions!).

I have taught anthropology and archaeology on and off for six years now, and have 10 years of practical research and excavation experience in the Near East. While archaeology and anthropology are my strongest subjects, there are many other areas which I am able to tutor in, such as Classics (one of my majors for my B.A.), writing (I am a published author), as well as broader historical subjects.

I have experience in both one-on-one teaching settings and in group settings. In fact, the review sessions that I organized and administered were always very effective and received very positive reviews. I look forward to the opportunity to work with you!

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
