I am a retired NYS Law Enforcement Officer and Graduate of Iona college. I have served the people of the State of NY for 30 years. 17 years of that time was spent in a training unit. Here I gravitated towards instructing the adults. My love of training earned me the title of Master Instructor. My drive to aid the Officer and the Agency resulted in several promotions, including the Director of Training for the entire Hudson Valley.
I specialize in public speaking, creating lesson plans, power point, and policy and procedure. My responsibilities were quite diverse, providing me with a large scope of instruction. I prefer to instruct at a student's chosen location as the first step in a comfortable familiar environment. In all my years I was well liked and respected. I teach "with" the person not "to" the person therefore opening areas of genuine two way communication.
Training is where the rubber meets the road. You must exude your love of the subject matter. And that's me. I am not a demanding instructor. On the contrary - gentle but meticulous.
The photographic skills I posses began at age 16. I have been shooting for approximately 35 years. Familiar with all types of film, digital and post production equipment ( Photo Shop). It is not the camera but the photographer that makes the photo. So that's where we begin. I have professional experience with wedding and studio setups. My photographs have been featured in a number of Hudson Valley exhibits as well as small charity driven programs. My motto is : "A good photograph is had by choosing the path less traveled."
Simply give me a call. I love to chat. No question is ridiculous . That's the way we get to know each other and get to the core of what you want to learn. I'm easy on scheduling and flexible with fees and distance to travel. All consultations are free. I am a retired NYS Law Enforcement Officer and Graduate of Iona college. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
