Hi! My name is Erin, and I have over 10 years of professional experience in various industries, including nonprofit, media, human rights, and education. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications and a Juris Doctor degree in Law. I began informally tutoring in high school, when I would often help my younger brothers as they worked through a tedious writing assignment or a frustrating math equation.

My approach to teaching is to guide students to critically think through questions and problems to find solutions. Learning should not just be about finding or guessing the “right” answer but should also help students understand the process of figuring out an answer. I believe that as students are enabled to solve problems on their own, learning can become a continuous pursuit in both their education and career paths, allowing them to grow personally and professionally.

If you ever struggled to update your resume, prepare for an interview, or decide what career path to follow, I can help you! I most oversaw the career development program at a NYC educational nonprofit for 3 years. In this role, I helped our students explore what industries might be a fit for their interests and skills. I worked individually with college students and young professionals to help them revise their resumes, cover letters, and other job application materials, as well as prepare for interviews.

I also have a J.D. from Fordham University School of Law, where I focused on International Human Rights Law and Intellectual Property. After graduation, I passed the California, New York, and New Jersey Bar Exams. I then worked as the executive director of a nonprofit which focused on intersection of law and culture through public programming designed to educate and engage the public on current legal issues.

Please feel free to reach out with any questions or to schedule a lesson. I look forward to hearing from you and seeing how I can support you in your educational and career goals!

I managed the career development program at a large New York City educational nonprofit for 3 years, where I helped students explore what professional paths could be a fit for their interests and skills. I worked one-on-one with college students and young professionals to help them create and update their resumes, edit their cover letters and application answers, and practice their interview skills (for phone, in-person, and virtual interviews). I supported them in securing internships, temp or part-time work, full-time jobs, and fellowships in a wide range of industries, including in business, communications, education, government, hospitality, and technology. I also organized multiple events and workshops each year to provide our students with additional opportunities to work on their professional skills, expand their networks, and refine their job hunting strategies. I myself have transitioned between various industries in my career – including entertainment, communications, legal, and nonprofit – so I understand from personal experience the quest to find the right fit and how important it is to identify your skills, market yourself, and be prepared for unexpected interview questions!

Highly knowledgeable Tutor!

I am extremely impressed with Erin. She was very patient taking the time to truly listen to my concerns. Asking pointed questions and how should it help. When she met with my student she was to engage his interest and effectively relay the information he needs. Highly recommend her!

Diligent and detail oriented

She did a good job instructed me through evidence problems. She was very patient, calm and understanding. As a lawyer she knows her content, she knows how to teach and the proper methods.
