I'm Ryan! I have a Bachelor's with Highest Honors in Mathematics and Physics from Harvard, and a Master's in Statistics from Harvard as well. One thing I realized early in my college career was my passion for teaching, which I developed as a tutor and mentor in high school. As a result, I started as a Teaching Fellow in my very first year at Harvard, which was unprecedented at the time, and have given review lectures with over 300 students in one lecture hall. In smaller, cozier settings, I've worked with individual students in both tutoring and office hour settings, helping the incredibly diverse student body at Harvard understand the nuts and bolts of probability, calculus, linear algebra, and more.

I directly translate this experience into helping my students understand these subjects from the point of view that best suits them. Each student has a unique background and perspective on how to approach a subject, and I work with them to figure out what makes it click. During my time lecturing at Harvard and tutoring in private, I have had to develop a large number of ways to understand every subject I taught, and this plethora of approaches have allowed me to personalize my teaching to each student.

I have also worked (and continue to work) with the admissions office at Harvard, and can also help students with admissions consulting, interviewing advice, and personal statements.

BA in Mathematics and Physics with Highest Honors
MA in Statistics
Phi Beta Kappa (Highest GPA in undergraduate studies)
Multiple research projects in probability, statistics, and differential equations

Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions you may have about your tutoring or consulting needs. I am happy to match my study plans and knowledge to your individual requests, and look forward to working with you.

Econometrics

Econometrics

I have worked on a number of financial and economic datasets that involved econometric analysis. This involved analyzing time series using regression models and sequential Monte Carlo simulations, as well as the application of random matrices for modeling healthcare loans. In addition, I have taken several courses in econometrics in both economics and statistics programs, all of which will allow me to cater to your specific topics and needs.

Computer

R

R

I have worked on a large number of research projects in both theoretical and applied statistics involving R, including econometrics, Monte Carlo modeling, deep neural networks, public health and genomics, and more.

Biostatistics

As a researcher, I have worked on several extremely large-scale projects involving entire human genomes, disease patterns, and gene-protein interactions. These have been based on genetic testing as well as biometric assays, and have required me to both apply and develop methods for the statistical analysis of large-scale biological and medical data. I also won the Boston Datathon using biological data as the primary dataset.
