Ever since then I have been expanding my knowledge of different computer science languages. Since Stony Brook mainly works in Java, or so it has been the case so far. Languages like PHP, Python, SQL, JavaScript, and C; and fields such as Android development I have picked up or am picking up on my own.
I have always loved to teach students and help them expand their knowledge outside of the classroom. And have been a mentor to multiple students (even some still in college right now)
While at Stony Brook University I have been Teaching Assitant for following classes: CS I (6 semesters) - This is the Introductory Java class;
CS III (3 semesters) - This is the 3rd level Java class; and CS 130 (1 semester) - This is the introductory C programming class
I also worked at the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences for one year as a programming tutor for 12 different courses. These courses ranged from introductory Java, C, C++ and logic Courses, to advanced Java and C.
I was also a tutor on the Google Helpouts team while it was still up. I was tutoring via Google Hangouts (online) in all the languages listed above.
During my second semester as a computer science major I was able to take it upon my self to setup my own server. It was written in PHP with various scripts running in the background.
I am friendly, patient, nice, and have had amazing reviews in my previous jobs as a tutor.
Sometimes it helps to understand a topic when it is explained in correlation to something that the student already knows. This is what I strive to do.
