I received a bachelor’s degree in French and Political Science from Stony Brook University. I also studied and graduated from Fordham University with a master’s degree in TESOL, Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages. Upon graduation, I was able to put my knowledge to use through tutoring, substitute teaching, and working as an English as a second language teacher. These roles have afforded me to gain a well-rounded set of teaching skills. I believe my experience, education and skill set put me in a position to meet the challenges described in your posting. As a teacher, I strived to maintain high standards for effectiveness, precision, dependability and attendance. I was a flexible team player since I implemented team teaching where my colleagues and I would take on different tasks and responsibilities. I did well with time management, being that managing students and curriculum development came into play. In addition, I was recognized for my work ethic, my communication, patience, enthusiasm, and confidence. As a teacher, I had to develop a curriculum. How much time spent on each task in the classroom while planning sharpened my skills in time management. Also, I have experience overseeing curriculum, supplies in the classroom, keeping attendance, grades, journaling student progress, maintaining hard copies and electronic versions of documents and perfecting my strong written and communication skills. Furthermore, I was adept at handling various unexpected situations which is due to my exposure to the classroom management skills I acquired.
