Possessed an extensive working knowledge of calculus and was very friendly and patient - extremely helpful!

Lawrence is working with me to understand all applications of excel. Learning how to create formulas as well as the set up.

Lawrence easily identified my sons strengths and weaknesses and explained his plan to meet our ACT objectives. We feel very confident in his ability to guide us.

Lawrence was very thorough in helping with Algebra 2 for the NYS regents exam. His schedule was flexible and we also did some online work was helpful

Lawrence is absolutely a hidden gem. He is very patient and actually takes time to understand a child and work with him/her to understand their struggles and then works with them to overcome the struggles. I wish we had more teachers like this to make our education system better and competitive.

Lawrence is a great tutor. I was in need of help with a college level math course using the computer program MatLab. Lawrence is and expert in both math and computer programming with many years experience. He was very patient with me and made sure I understand each step of learning. He is friendly, patient, and helpful. My money was well spent and it was a great relief to find him as a tutor. I would highly recommend him to anyone who needs a instructor in math or computer programming.

Lawrence was my sons tutor for statistics I and II this summer and he was unbelievable. Always available around my son's 40 hour a week working schedule. Lawrence never canceled, and no matter when my son needed help he was able to meet. My son earned an A in Stats I and currently has an A in Statistics II. You could not find a better tutor anywhere!

Lawrence was just the tutor I needed for Diff Eq. He knew how to relate the problems to my engineering field. He was very flexible with his time and easy to reach. He was patient with me on the more difficult problems and also on the easier problems that just needed a quick review. If another course comes up that I will needed a tutor, and Lawrence is available, I would definately use him again.

Approved subjects are in **bold**.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Topics covered include: basic algebra, with percentages, sequences and series (arithmetic and geometric), factorization, algebraic division; advanced algebra, with exponents, logarithms, geometry, trigonometry, graphs, rational expressions, permutations and combinations; intermediate and advanced math, with measurements, units, roots of equations.

I graduated from Moody Bible Institute after 3 years of study, and can teach Bible Studies.

I can teach Basic Theology, Hermeneutics, New Testament, Eschatology.

I have programmed with C on many projects when I worked for Xerox Corporation as a Research Engineer. I am willing to take a test to prove my skills and experience.

Topics covered include

(a) limits and continuity, derivatives of algebraic, trigonometric, exponential, logarithmic, hyperbolic functions; implicit derivatives.

(b) Riemann integrals, integration by substitution, integration by parts, use of partial functions; multiple integrals; numerical integration with trapezoidal and simpson's rules.

(c) only if required: integral transforms (Laplace, Fourier, Hankel).

I have a Ph.D. (Eng. Sc.D.) in Engineering Science and MS in Mechanical Engineering (both from Columbia University). I took a test on Elance (now Upwork) in Civil engineering and ranked in the top 5%.

I know these programming languages: Java, Javascript, Fortran, Visual Basic with Excel, Matlab, HTML, DOS scrpting, Bourne shell, C shell.

I should be able to help others with programming.

I can teach ODES (1st and 2nd order), PDEs with separation of variables or with integral transforms.

I can also solve ODEs and PDEs numerically with Runge-Kutta and finite differences (explicit or implicit).

I have created K-6 instructional materials, questions and answers for two states in the USA as a freelance consultant. I can provide samples of my lessons as confirmation.

I can teach general computer skills. This includes basic computer architecture and programming in C, Java, fortran.

I can also teach Office skills and HTML, JavaScript. With a little bit of review, I can teach PHP and SQL.

I can teach linear algebra. I taught the subject at Rochester Institute of Technology in the MEch. Engineering department.

I taught Matlab for 5 years at RIT as part of Numerical Analysis. I can teach basic Matlab, and reasonable amount of the graphing package.

My formal training is in mechanical engineering, and I hold BSME (Imperial College, England) and MSME, Ph.D. (Columbia University, NY). I can help mechanical engineering students in these courses: statics, dynamics, stress analysis, heat transfer, solid mechanics, finite elements, numerical methods.

I created an online course in PreCalculus for a community college in Texas.

I have been tutoring students for the SAT exam with good success, and I can provide tutoring for the PSAT as well.

I am already tutoring trigonometry for the Regents exam. I can also teach geometry, algebra, math A, math B, and physics. With a little bit of review, I can also teach earth sciences.

A student who scored too low in SAT math (twice) could not gain a college scholarship. After I tutored him for 2 months, he passed well and got a scholarship to SUNY Fredonia.

I have been tutoring students for the SAT for WyzAnt with good success, and I should be able to help students prepare for the SSAT exam as well.

I have been tutoring students for the Regents and SAT exams with good success, I should have no difficulty tutoring students for the TEAS exams as well.

I have tutored students in trigonometry for ACT, SAT, GRE and in college math.

I can help beginning and intermediate computer science students or engineering students to become familiar with the Unix (or Linux) Operating Systems. I can teach Bourne and C shell scripting and how to create C-code in the unix environment. I have over 7 years experience working in the Unix environment.

I have worked on projects in which I wrote Visual Basic code to drive the cells in a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet. However, I have not written standalone Visual Basic programs.

I can provide a sample of my work to demonstrate my skills and experience.
