Have you ever gotten stuck in a school subject, and it just seemed impossible to continue? Have you ever gotten bogged down in punctuation use and proper grammar? Have you ever needed help studying for a big test in English, and didn't know where to turn? This is where I come in! I a graduated from SUNY Oswego in 2011 with my four year degree; I majored in both English and American Studies, and I graduated Cum Laude, and I had an overall GPA of 3.66. I decided to continue my education at SUNY Oswego, and have been pursuing a Masters Degree in English Education for grades 7-12. I graduate at the end of this summer with my degree, at which point I will be fully certified as an English Educator.
I student taught for a total of twelve weeks with both of my placements being in the Syracuse City School District. I have a firm grasp on UDL education, differentiation, and activity based learning, and I understand that every student learns differently. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
