I have been a tutor for the past several years, tutoring all ages of children in a variety of disciplines but mainly specializing in preparing students in math for the SAT,the ACT and the PSAT. I have also prepared students for the Catholic High School entrance exam, the COOP. My style combines instruction in the basic math concepts as well as continual testing with practice exams. I believe this best prepares the student for the rigors of the test and helps build the stamina necessary to succeed. I especially concentrate on having the students eliminate careless errors and understand what each question requires. Depending on the skill level of the student, I customize the program according to need.
I graduated Washington University in St. Louis with a liberal arts degree and a teaching certificate. My background is quite varied, having worked on Wall Street as a research analyst for 10 years and an operations manager for a publicly held company for 10 years. I have also worked in the school system. I am happily married with three children who have graduated from college and are now leading successful careers. In short, I have many life experiences which enable me to connect with children of all ages and I find it especially rewarding to help students learn and succeed. I look forward to having the opportunity to be of help to your child. Craig is an excellent instructor. He explains the whole mathematical process to a question. I like the style of tutoring he does. I feel much more comfortable with the math section of the sat.
I recently had my first lesson with Craig for the SAT and he taught me some neat tricks to help me go thorough questions faster. Looking forwards to working with him again.
Craig is an excellent, patient math tutor. He helped my daughter to raise her score from a 710 to a 780. He made her feel comfortable and provided confidence which she took into the SAT. She had taken an SAT course, but Craig helped her to raise her score to the level she wanted. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a Math tutor. He is currently working with my other daughter also, and she is feeling confident for the next SAT exam.
Craig is helping my son with SAT Math, and we could not ask for better tutor. Very pleasant, knowledgeable and thorough.
He told me I would do better if I wrote out all my calculations instead of doing the work in my head.
Craig was able to provide my son with valuable lessons in mathematics. The time slots for his sessions were flexible which was very beneficial given my son's busy schedule. I recommend his services to any family seeking a reliable math tutor.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
