Hi, I'm Teddy! Originally from northern Virginia, I recently moved to Long Island, New York to further my studies in violin and viola playing and teaching, which I've been working at for the last 12 years. I recently graduated Magna cum laude from Shenandoah Conservatory. I've studied with many teachers at the top of their fields in Virginia, Maryland, New York, Pennsylvania, and London, at Trinity Laban Conservatoire for Music and Dance. I've attended several international music festivals on full-tuition scholarship and I've lead my fair share of orchestras as concertmaster. On the side, I never pass up a game of tennis, ping pong, or chess!

I've studied and written about the methods and principles of teaching for years, as teaching music is a huge passion of mine. I believe in a structured but flexible approach, with clear learning objectives to measure and pace progress to be as efficient as possible. Inspiring others is my goal, as well as helping my students to reach whatever goals they set out to reach! I pride myself in my listening skills and adaptability. I personalize every lesson I give, because every student has a different mind that learns in a different way, and making sure my teaching style is the perfect fit for each student is a priority. I've taught violinists and violists of all ages for the last 7+ years and I am looking forward to doing so for the rest of my life.

My job is to help you succeed in any adventure you wish to embark upon, and it is a personal promise from me to you that I will do my very best to make that happen. Please reach out if you have any questions or you'd like to schedule a lesson. I look forward to hearing from you!

I have performed as a soloist and led trios, quartets, quintets, and orchestras as a concert violinist in my career. I have also taught students from elementary school to over sixty years of age. I have 12+ years of playing experience and am currently in graduate school for my Master's degree in Viola Performance. I have studied and practiced the science and art of string pedagogy for years, and have learned from renowned teachers from around the world.

Very knowledgeable! And helpful!

He is absolutely wonderful! I love his patience and kindness. Very helpful and detailed. I plan on continuing using him as my violin teacher. His rates are very affordable compared to some music schools and shops I have visited.

Patient and knowledgable

I'm an adult beginner. Teddy worked with me at a speed that I could keep up with and kept me interested. He's thorough and kind and despite my many false starts, he remained patient and helpful.

Great helpful session

Teddy is a great math teacher, which I met for. What I wanted to share here is his willingness to help. When I had problem understanding the concept I am interested, he is so candid and patient follow up. Thanks Teddy!
