Hi, I'm Teddy! Originally from northern Virginia, I recently moved to Long Island, New York to further my studies in violin and viola playing and teaching, which I've been working at for the last 15 years. I earned my Bachelors degree in violin performance Magna cum laude from Shenandoah Conservatory and my Masters degree in viola performance with a 4.0 GPA from the Aaron Copland School of Music at Queens College. I've studied with many teachers at the top of their fields in Virginia, Maryland, New York, Pennsylvania, and London, at Trinity Laban Conservatoire for Music and Dance. I've attended several international music festivals on full-tuition scholarship and I've lead my fair share of orchestras as concertmaster and principal viola. On the side, I never pass up a game of tennis, ping pong, or chess!

I've studied and written about the methods and principles of teaching for years, as teaching music is a huge passion of mine. I believe in a structured but flexible approach, with clear learning objectives to measure and pace progress to be as efficient as possible. Inspiring others is my goal, as well as helping my students to reach whatever goals they set out to reach! I pride myself in my listening skills and adaptability. I personalize every lesson I give, because every student has a different mind that learns in a different way, and making sure my teaching style is the perfect fit for each student is a priority. I've taught violinists and violists of all ages for the last 9+ years, and I am looking forward to doing so for the rest of my life.
