I am a recent MBA graduate who has a passion for learning and teaching. My first experience tutoring students was in middle school as a peer tutor. I enjoyed tutoring my peers because it was a good way to meet new people while reinforcing the material I had already learned. I am a recent MBA graduate who has a passion for learning and teaching. My first experience tutoring students was in middle school as a peer tutor. I enjoyed tutoring my peers because it was a good way to meet new people while reinforcing the material I had already learned. I continued to tutor students as an undergraduate by going to the local elementary school to help students with basic math and language arts. In addition, I worked as a Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) Teacher at BGCM Community Center & Sportsplex. Here, I created interactive lessons to inspire middle school and high school students to pursue careers in STEM. Furthermore, I worked as a STEM Saturday Ambassador with the Office of Pre-Colleigate Outreach at my university. As a STEM Saturday Ambassador I assisted in workshops for middle students interested in engineering. I wholeheartedly believe that a good education is the key to success. I enjoy tutoring because it is a way for me to give back to the community and give others the same opportunity I had to excel through academics.

As an engineer I have taken many math classes and understand what it feels like to be lost when learning new concepts. I am able to break down the material so that students are able to understand and apply new concepts. I have a strong background in chemistry due to my major in chemical engineering. I am knowledgeable of basic and advanced courses in chemistry including organic chemistry. I have a minor in business and have taken classes in economics, marketing, accounting, and finance.Outside of the tutoring I enjoy watching and playing basketball, traveling, cooking, and hanging out with friends. I plan to work as a practicing engineer for a while before becoming a full time teacher.

Very Patient

Very Knowledgeable. I have not taken math in a few years. Took his time making me understand the material so that I can continue investigating on how the operations work. Very personable and easy going.

Awesome

Extremely patient and knowledgeable. He reviewed the topics beforehand and was really able to explain things clearly to me when i had no prior knowledge on the subject matter.

Quality tutor. Very knowledgeable, patient, and kind. + Helpful PPT slides!*

You will find Mr. Yaw to be a very kind and patient tutor. I never feel rushed in my sessions, which allows me to ask the important questions I have. I truly respect his patience and kindness towards his students. He is genuinely optimistic about achieving your academic goals. A distinction that this tutor has is that he prepares power point slides used as a lecture or guidance towards your tutoring session.
