After graduating from the LFNY (high school), I continued my studies in France where I ended up getting a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering. I then went on to get a Master's in Aerospace Engineering at Georgia Tech. I recently graduated with a Master's in Industrial Engineering and I am now a PhD student at RPI.
Since high school, I have been tutoring mainly middle-school and high-school students primarily in math, science, and French.

I love tutoring for several reasons. I really enjoy figuring out the best way to teach the student the knowledge they need to succeed. We all have our own way of learning and the key is to find the best learning method for the student. And that is where my engineering skills come into play. After assessing the student's strengths and weaknesses, I then use the student's strengths to improve their weaknesses. Also, having gone through two different teaching styles, American and French, I am able to present a concept under various angles, giving the student a more thorough understanding of and view on the subject at hand. Another reason why I love to tutor is seeing the student's 'light bulb' moments, when they finally come to understand a mathematical concept for example. This ties to my other reason why I love to tutor: having the student deconstruct a difficult problem into a simple one. The moment they feel like there was no difficulty to begin with and that it is actually an easy problem, is when I know that my methods have worked and the student truly grasps the concept. Seeing the student learn and succeed is what tutoring is all about for me.

First lesson

Rosemonde connected really well with my high schooler. I think they will work together well on her online course. First time scheduling an online lesson.
