I enjoy working with young people and to see them make progress in their learning. I was involved teaching English classes to my three children when my wife and I homeschooled them in France. I also worked with my oldest son teaching English to children at a French Association in Valreas, France. One of my responsibilities In France involved organizing places where youth groups around the world could do their presentations. One event I was especially proud of was finding venues for a group of former students from Columbine High School in Colorado who were affected by the massacre there and how they were able to work through this trauma and continue on with their lives. A rally that took place in Paris had 500 people attending.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
