About Frank

You may look at my photo and ask yourself "do I want to learn from an Old Guy... with a white beard?" Answer is, in this case, absolutely!

I'm an art school student from the '60's, who did illustration & design with pen-and-ink - the Old Way - and then transitioned to the computer in 1991. I found it really easy; friends encouraged me to teach computer graphics, so I have been doing that in local community colleges for years, as well as doing "art" on a computer.

Yeah, I am an Old Guy, but over all those years I have learned a lot that will likely be useful to you!

Talk to you soon

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Adobe InDesign

I am a graphic designer from before the "computer age". I learned, then taught QuarkXPress individually and at the college level. When Adobe InDesign was published, I learned, used and taught that at the college level as well.

Adobe Photoshop

I have been using Photoshop since v1 (original release) and teaching it since 1995; I have been a Graphic Artist for over 30 years, so not only can I teach you Photoshop, but where it fits in to the world of Graphics. A Two-fer!

Dreamweaver

I have been a user of Dreamweaver for over 10 years, and have taught it at Rockland Community College in Suffern, NY. I have built a number of websites with Dreamweaver. Along with Dreamweaver, I have taught HTML- in fact, I generally teach both at the same time.
