I have worked with many students, both in private tutoring and classroom settings, helping them gain the knowledge and confidence they need to succeed. I have much experience in accommodating different learning techniques and specialize in presenting complex concepts so as to be more easily understood.
I began tutoring in my junior year of high school and fell in love with teaching. I continued teaching throughout my undergraduate studies at University of California-San Diego, first as a teaching assistant in chemistry, then as an MCAT preparation teacher for Kaplan. I have a long history of quality work, consistently receiving 100% excellence rating from anonymous student surveys. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in 2007, double majoring in biochemistry and psychology. I then proceeded to enter medical school for a combined M.D./Ph.D. program. I graduated in 2015 with my M.D. and Ph.D. in the field of cardio-physiology. Currently, I am continuing my training as a resident physician in the field of pathology.
Teaching and learning are my passions, and I am always on the look out to expand more minds and instill in students the curiosity and excitement that comes with education.

Elizabeth was an amazing tutor! Not only was she extremely knowledgeable about the MCAT topics, she was also a great confidence builder. She was always praising me for my hard work and efforts. She was also very encouraging to me when I was frustrated and helped me to remain focused on my goals. Elizabeth is very personable and very easy to work with. Her schedule was very flexible and I learned a lot from each session. I would highly recommend her.
Elizabeth was smart, fun to work with and so knowledgeable. I will work with her all semester on my college Chemistry.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
