I have a year of experience working with elementary students. I was an after school teacher for a private Hebrew school and worked closely with third graders. The school was open from 7 am to 7 pm and I sometimes worked the whole day. I did homework with my students and many activities to keep their minds growing. I did a lot of writing workshops with them, which they loved. Specifically, we did a lot of story writing, character building and plot strengthening.
The school was small with only about 10-15 children in each class, which made it easier to give each student the time they need to understand the topics. I found it fascinating when the children would ask me to clarify something I was teaching them, and then for their minds to find ally grasp what I had said, and they would become so excited. This is my passion, I enjoy teaching and learning more than anything and I love the moment when the child understands.
I have studied English for years and have a concentration in creative writing. I am Orton Gillingham certified and have been successfully practicing my training with much success. I have classroom experience with many writing techniques to show the children. And since I love writing, I have ways to help your children love writing as well.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have been certified to teach Orton-Gillingham, which is a literacy/phonics approach for dyslexic children. The training has equipped me to teach handwriting the proper way so the child won't become confused.
I have been certified to teach Orton- Gillingham, which is a literacy/phonics approach for dyslexic children. The program focuses on phonetic structure and trains the mind to pick out the different sounds they hear. I am able to help the child blend out the sounds of words.
