I believe that language is so important especially in New York since it is such a diverse city, so I aim to use foreign language daily. I often listen to French, Greek, Turkish and Spanish music. I also enjoy reading French novels and Modern Greek poetry. I watch Turkish films and television shows when I find the time. I chat with some of my friends in French and discuss politics with family members in Greek. In short, I try to fit in as much foreign language into my life as possible and I find that it has only been a beneficial experience for me.
Incorporating foreign language into my daily life is certainly important, but obtaining professional experience is just as important to me. I spent three years as an assistant teacher at a Greek school (Grades K-3) and I tutored a graduate student in Greek for a year at UCLA. I interned at the French Consulate in Los Angeles, where I wrote newsletters and translated documents. I also spent a few months interning at the Woodrow Wilson Center in Washington DC where I was able to use my language skills to conduct research for the Global Europe program. I was also able to use some of the resources at the center for my own research on foreign language education in the United States. I have taught Spanish, Latin, and French at the high school level for 4 years and I am familiar with NYS foreign language guidelines.

I took the New York State Regents Exam in Greek and received a 93. I studied Greek language and culture for eight years. I took the New York State Regents Exam in French and received a 97. I studied French for 10 years and received my BA in French from UCLA in June 2014. I spent 2 years studying Turkish at UCLA and I have been studying Spanish for 4 years.

I am adventurous and I love challenges. Whether you want to learn to write a better composition that analyzes a poem by Baudelaire or you just want to better understand the lyrics to "Bailando", I would love to help in any way that I can! I love foreign language and I love helping others to the
