In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have taken the American history regents, for which I got a score of 97. I also got a score of 4 on the AP United States history exam in high school. I continued to take rigorous history and is politics classes throughout college. My knowledge of history comes from these multiple heavy courses, reading on my free time, and keeping up with tutoring students.

Although it certainly is important, and I can offer my tips on doing this well, it is essential to have a deeper understanding of the material and I'm more than willing to help with that. So don't be hesitant to contact me! I'm happy to share what I've learned, and give tips and tricks to succeeding!
I have been tutoring students in elementary school for years now. I first started off peer tutoring in elementary school then moved on to tutoring family and siblings and I've continued to tutor part time while going to college. I have plenty of experience working with kids, keeping them engaged and making it fun! I love working with this age group especially and tend to seek out tutoring opportunities in all elementary subjects. I would love to help!
As you can see from my profile I work with almost all ages and subjects. I come from a large family with many siblings and cousins and that's how I started off. I would babysit and tutor and now I tutor students in elementary school, middle school and college. I've been tutoring for years. So I know how to keep children engaged and it really keeps the material fresh in my memory. I have no excuse for forgetting things! So let me know what hours are good for you and hopefully we can work this out! I know how competitive it's become these years, even with kids so if it helps, I got scores of 3s and 4s in elementary school on my state tests in English and Math.
I have taken a public speaking course in high school for which I received an A. I also had plenty of practice in public speaking in multiple classes for assignments. I took an advanced public speaking course in college in which I prepared and gave up to ten speeches. I received an A in this class as well.
I am a third year college student and have always excelled in reading and writing. From elementary to high school I've received many awards in reading and writing. Now in college, I was elected by professors to be a peer writing intensive tutor. Also, I've been helping my peers from a young age in improving their skills and now have used my hours of experience to help tutor people of a broad range of ages in a broad range of subjects. So I would love to help your child succeed!
