About Michael

I graduated from Binghamton University with degrees in Art History and Russian Studies. In 2015, I spoke at the Binghamton University Foreign Language Teaching Conference, and I have experience in teaching and giving lectures in various museums, galleries, and art venues. Tutoring Russian and teaching the other various languages I know (Hebrew and Yiddish) were among some of my best memories of college and my professional life after graduation.

I will provide all the materials, and not require you to buy any books (except for possibly a dictionary and a notebook). Doing homework and practicing on your own is necessary, and is a vital key to success - even if we are meeting as frequently as five hours per week.

If you live in or around the NYC metropolitan area and are interested in learning or practicing Russian, Hebrew, or Yiddish - or preparing for the GRE (verbal or quantitative) - contact me!

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Russian

I began taking Russian when I was a student at Regis High School on the Upper East Side. I eventually went on to complete a B.A. in Russian at Binghamton University. I have privately tutored Russian in Staten Island, Manhattan, and Israel.
