I have always been a passionate, diligent student. I have a love for learning that fuels me. It serves as my motivation and determination to achieve the best I possibly can. That is a quality I hope to pass on to other students. If you love what you do, you will do it well. In high school, I was a peer tutor for all four years. In college, I also tutor students who are both younger and older than I am, in subjects like general chemistry and calculus. I have also tutored elementary students in the Port Richmond area of Staten Island. I love tutoring. I love helping students better understand subjects that they are struggling with. I am determined to help them the best I can because I want them to experience the joy of learning that I enjoy. It's the best feeling in the world when students come to me after an exam to let me know that they did well.
I'm very well aware of the fact that all students learn differently. I am very patient. I will do my best to explain things a number of ways until the student understands. If I don't know the answer to a question, I promise to do all I can to help you find it. I want the students I work with to feel comfortable around me. I strongly encourage students to ask questions and not to be afraid of making mistakes.
I specialize in tutoring algebra, precalculus, and calculus I and II. I also tutor regents chemistry, AP Chemistry, and college-level general chemistry. I like to pinpoint the topics that students are struggling with. I teach those topics and then enforce the skills by doing practice problems. I give students extra practice problems that will help them master these topics.
I will try my best to establish convenient accommodations for students. I don't want students traveling out of their way to meet with me.
I genuinely hope that I can help you succeed in your studies! I look forward to working together to make that happen.

We have been working with Rabije for about 2 months now. She tutors my son (high school) and my daughter (middle school). Although it has only been two months, we see a drastic difference, not with just their knowledge of math, but also with their enthusiasm. It seems that they are more eager to learn as they begin to master some of the math knowledge that they previously lacked. Rabije is a great supplement to the education that they are receiving at school. They needed that little extra nudge and with Rabije, we seem to have it.
Thank you WyzAnt for matching us up with Rabije.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
