Michael C. has been writing and photographing professionally for 25 years. For the past 12 years, he has been a writer-producer and illustrator of Internet content, video, and multimedia for a variety of employers and clients, including ad agencies, nonprofits, and a major New York City medical center. Michael C. has been writing and photographing professionally for 25 years. For the past 12 years, he has been a writer-producer and illustrator of Internet content, video, and multimedia for a variety of employers and clients, including ad agencies, nonprofits, and a major New York City medical center. He is also a music journalist who writes for several roots and traditional music publications. His book reviews have been published on an online journal of books.

Michael studied English, American and Latin American literature and culture while in college, and performed graduate work in American Studies. He has written extensively about the history, music, and popular culture of 19th and 20th century America.

Michael has freelanced for national general interest and music magazines since 1990. He writes book, music, and concert reviews for Blues Revue and SING OUT! Magazines and has appeared on both publications’ mastheads since 2000.

He has also written about art photography and photographic technique for Cameras 35, Photo, and Modern Photography, and writes routinely about consumer health. For over 10 years, Michael traveled the country, writing and producing video continuing education programs for physicians.

He spent an invigorating two-season stint at Lifetime Television, where he was chief writer for a consumer health TV news magazine. He is a contributor to the Uncle John Bathroom Reader humor book series, and maintains a humor blog.

He is now writing a book on blues history.
