I offer many talents (e.g. music, coaching/tutoring/teaching children with special needs (ASD, ADHD). I also offer tutoring assistance, skill building, and respite care to children with Special Needs (ED, ASD, ADHD) through a Staten Island Behavioral Health Agency. I am currently finishing up my Dual Masters in Primary Education and Special Education, I also teach music and provide educational and support services in an after school program for children with special needs (ASD), and I tutor children of various ages (from Primary School all the way to High School) in all subjects. My positive work experiences have encouraged me to become an advocate for children and adults with the ASD diagnosis, and in fact, I have attended borough-wide seminars on the Autism Initiative, as well as petitioned City Hall for increased and continued funding for Autism Services. As a committed educator, I feel strongly about the uniqueness of each student and the principles of differentiated instruction. Each child has their own individual learning style combination, and it is the role of the facilitator to screen the individual student, to find their strengths, and to create lessons that “teach to those strengths”. I am very interested in teaching opportunities and would welcome the opportunity to speak with you.
