With over 20 years of public, private and college teaching experience, I will help you to reach your academic goals. the lessons will accurately demonstrate that content and offer guided practice fit for your learning style. I have resided in the Finger Lakes area since 1962 and earned my educational degrees both locally and in NYC. My employment has included work with area public, private schools, including Finger Lakes Community College where I teach Public Speaking in the Visual and Performing Arts department. I enjoy helping students with a plan to succeed and use humor, writing, re-writing and re-re writing!
Being an artist, I have always drawn processes and diagrams are very interesting to me.
I currently teach Public Speaking and have taught ESL as well. Since I also have a strong musical theater background, I demonstrate skills well.

4 or more students will each pay 40 per hour. cancel at the last minute without valid excuse/no-show, he/ she will be billed 10 dollars.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have an art background and am NYS State Certified to teach Art K-12. I have designed stage and back drops as well as costuming. I often use art to teach ESL and graphic arts to help students design a pubic speaking event.
I am permanently NYS certified in Elementary N-6. I build a community of good citizens and active learners. I use the direct method of teaching with demonstrations and modeling and then move to centers. We use journals and presentations for students to demonstrate proficiency. Students receive feedback that is constructive and tailored towards individual and group need.
I have taught Public Speaking since 1997 at a local community college and have worked with all types of learner. Helping the student to develop organizational skills, research and confidence while establishing excellent voice, eye contact, posture and use of AV materials is key to a successful presentation.
Having taught in the developmental studies department at my local community college has allowed me to work with all level of students learner. Students who have struggled with getting organized and prioritizing goals need framework to launch them in to great study habits.
