North Carolina Central University (Dance)
I have nine years of tutoring experience. I've been tutoring children from elementary to middle school. The main thing I love about tutoring is the smile after the child understands a problem or learns a new dance move. I finished two years at the University of North Carolina Charlotte as a Dance major. Parents of the children I tutor love me because I like to enjoy a tutor session. I make up lessons that will help the child understand but also I make it fun so the child can remember when they are by themselves. I believe the best way to teach is to make it exciting and fun so the children don't get bored and distracted. If you make learning fun, the child will want to learn even more just like a video game or a sport.
Dance to me is not a hobby it's a passion, an art. My love for Dance came from a doctor telling me I am unable to dance when he diagnosed me with scoliosis at the age of 8. Before I was diagnosed, I didn't take dance as serious as I do now, but being told I couldn't do something made me want to do it more and helped me realize how free it made me feel. I had to stop for a while but after my 8hr, life or death surgery, and my 1 year recovery I was able to dance again. But now I just don't want to dance, I want to teach! I want to teach someone who has the passion for dance like no other.
Tutoring is a talent and I would love to express my ways with you. Learning is natural but the love for it is hard to find, but I'll show you how, just remember to never stress yourself out and always enjoy your learning experience. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have completed 2 years at the University of North Carolina Charlotte as a Dance Major specializing in Ballet and Modern. I believe dance is an art and a big stress reliever. I like to start my tutoring lessons with a stretch or mini dance to open up the child's mind and put them in a better mood. I have tutored in ballet twice before and would like to get more experience and meet someone who has the love for ballet just like me.
