Hello! Welcome to my profile.
I am excited about the chance to help you and/or your child achieve academic success. I've been teaching in NYC public schools for over 10 years with an emphasis in early childhood and elementary education. I love to teach and I love to learn. Tutoring has been a great way for me to do both! I welcome the opportunity to help students at any level grow stronger in any subject that they may be struggling with. Tutoring provides that precious and invaluable one-on-one attention that is difficult to receive and maintain in the classroom setting.
I have tutored everyone from 1st graders in reading to college students in writing. I am also an ASL student & tutor. If you are a beginner to the language or are looking to move to the next level in sign, I can help! My methods vary depending on need, but all sessions end with fantastic results both academically and emotionally.
I look forward to working with you or your child. Reach out to me and I'll help you reach the stars! Hello! Welcome to my profile.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
Hello, I am a licensed early childhood teacher with the NYC Department of Education. Although ECH teachers are certified for birth through second grade, I have 5 years of experience teaching in grades from kindergarten through 8th grade.
I am very confident in my proficiency in reading, writing and mathematics at theses grade levels- the very subjects that out state exams are given in and that many students struggle in mastering.
I thoroughly enjoy teaching and helping students gain confidence and academic success and I know that I can do that for you!
I love reading. Have you ever looked at the cover of a book and thought, "Wow, this looks like it might be fun to read!", and then when you open it up you realize you can't read some of the words. That book doesn't look so good after all.
That is where phonics comes in. It is the basis for all reading, elementary and advanced. We all have to know how letters sound and how to put them together to read words. I have a great drill and kill strategy for tackling phonics and it's fun! You will be reading and showing off your "big words" skill in no time.
I have completed Levels 1 and 2 in ASL with American sign language. I am currently taking level 6 at University before making my final stop at the Interpreters program. I interpret for the Deaf weekly at church. I can teach beginners and help the intermediate signer brush up on his or her skills.
