I was very pleased how Mr. D. was with my daughter. He is personable and knowledgeable. He was able to identify my daughter's weaknesses. He discussed these with us in a manner that was constructive and my daughter accepted the criticism. I wish that I had contacted him earlier so that he could have had more time with her. I HIGHLY recommend Mr. D. I am eager to see my daughter's test scores. I am sure that they are higher than they would have been without his tutoring.
Richard helped my daughter to regain her confidence. She is very comfortable with him and enjoys going to her lessons
Richard was able to pinpoint my daughter's weaknesses quickly and focused on strategies and tips to improve them. Because of Richs' excellent mentoring and my daughters' hard work, she improved 260 points on her SAT. Would highly recommend to any student needing help with SATs.
My name is Ashley and I am a student of Richards. I feel Richards patience and ability to find my strengths and weaknesses are helping me with my scores, and his ability to get me to use my time better is helping me complete the exams. I am hoping to score very high on the ACT and with Richards help I am gaining the confidence I feel will get me there.
I would like to thank Richard for all his help with my daughter, he has made her feel very comfortable not only for the tutoring, for the test as well. He has moved his schedule to meet with her, even the night before the test was given. He took the time to speak with me on the phone before meeting with my daughter so he knew academically were she stood. Richard has been great and we couldn't ask for more. I will come back to him with my 2 sons.
I consider Richard to be a top notch tutor. He assessed my daughter, determined her needs and zoomed in on where she needed help. If any parent is considering tutoring for their son or daughter, look no further than Richard. He is well worth his weight in gold.
Richard has a positive and gentle approach, yet manages to impart structure and self-discipline to his students. This combination made my son feel very comfortable from the first session. My son's test-taking confidence level has improved and I expect that it will be even higher by the time he has to take the SAT. We look forward to test results that would have been unattainable without Richard's tutoring. In addition, thanks to Richard's observations, my son is finally discovering his academic strengths. We are grateful for this unexpected benefit, as it will help my son to determine the area of study that he will pursue when he enters college.
Richard D. has been very professional. He has shown my son several strategies to help him with his weaknesses. I have already seen an improvement in my son's confidence. Thank you.
Mr. Richard D. was the best tutor my son ever had. He was quick to assess my sons skills, what to focus on and made a plan on the first session. My son went on to do very well on his college placement exam and is now enrolled in a junior college, going with confidence that Richard instilled in him. He also personalized a practice test for my son prior to the exam which helped my son in the timing aspect of the exam. Richard was flexible in changing days and times as needed to accommodate my son and his work schedule.
I highly recommend Mr. Richard D. for your child.
My son is truly struggling. He failed math last quarter and with the patience Richard has, as well as the confidence he tries to give my son with focusing on the positives, he worked on getting to at least pass a math test. I hired him for the February break and he came 4 days and worked with my son for 1 1/2 hours each day, and well my son passed! I am so very thankful!
Very professional, terrific attitude, Richard had a very short period of time to help my grandson study for sat test, he is always on time and at times goes over the allotted time. My grandson learned a great deal about strategies and taking the sat test. I am looking forward to the results of test...Richard worked very hard and although my grandson has adhd and aspergers (type of autism)...Richard was extremely patient.
It is obvious he takes his work seriously!
Richard is a wonderful tutor. Patient, kind & boy does he know his stuff!!! I will post another review when we get the results of our daughter's SAT exam. I think we most definitely got our money's worth!
Thanks Richard & WyzAnt!
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
