My undergraduate degree was in Science Education with a concentration in Physics -- so I was going to be a high school physics teacher. But, I was also in ROTC in college and got side tracked by a 23 year stint in the Army. Along the way the Army sent me to get my Ph.D. in Nuclear Physics and I did some interesting work for the Army in radar and nuclear protection. The Army also sent me to West Point where I taught Physics for 5 years.

Along the way the Army sent me to get my Ph.D. in Nuclear Physics and I did some interesting work for the Army in radar and nuclear protection. The Army also sent me to West Point where I taught Physics for 5 years.

When I retired from the Army in 2006, I was hired at The College of Saint Rose to teach undergraduate physics courses, and have been there ever since. I've taught workshops for local teachers on how to teach science and LOVE teaching math and science. I was selected as faculty of the year by the students at St. Rose in 2010 and have consistently great evaluations by my students. I hope I can help you learn the material and learn to love science and math too!

Math is the language of physics, and so I've developed a love of math, and am really good at explaining it to students. Be it Algebra, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus or Calculus, I can explain math in a way most math teachers can't. I'm also getting good at elementary math again, as my daughter is finishing up 3rd grade.

I've loved physics since high school. I've learned how to teach it in undergraduate school, and learned it in depth in graduate school, used it in research and development in the Army, and have been teaching physics for the past 20 years. I routinely attend conferences and workshops on how to more effectively teach physics.

Please get in touch with me and see if I can't make these great subjects a whole lot more understandable and enjoyable!

In college I was a Physics major but when I started volunteering at an elementary school and fell in love with teaching, I switched to become a physics teacher. So my Bachelor's degree is in Education, and with a concentration of physics, I took enough math classes to be certified to teach math as well. I've taught many workshops for elementary school teachers in STEM teaching methods, and teach a physical science course for elementary education majors. I love teaching younger children, and I have a daughter starting 4th grade, so I'm pretty intimately familiar with elementary math.

My undergraduate degree is in Science Education with an emphasis on physics and math. (So I was trained to be a physics and math high school teacher) For the past 12 years I've taught physical science to elementary education majors at a local college (so I may have taught science to your child's teacher). I have children in K and 4th grade this year, so I'm comfortable with this age group, I'm very patient and believe in making sure your child feels successful, and IS successful.

I've taught physics at the undergraduate level for 20 years at locations from Hudson Valley Community College to West Point - and have been teaching at the College of Saint Rose for 14 years. I've taught workshops for elementary, middle, and high school teachers. I teach pre-service teachers - so I understand what the local schools are asking your child to do.
