I have tutored courses in both philosophy and history during my four years at MCLA; moreover, I was also a teaching assistant for an upper level philosophy course. These experiences were incredible because they were an opportunity for me, not just a job. The one-on-one interaction between student and pupil were always fun due to the perspectives that were brought to the table.
My qualifications for tutoring philosophy are not only a consequent of my degree in the discipline itself, but is also derived from a love of the contents coupled with my experience as a teaching assistant.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I passed the U.S. history regents with a score of 89%, which means it is at the mastery level. Moreover, I am also an undergraduate history major that is expected to receive my B.A. in history this May 2015.
My minor is in political science, which I completed at the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts. Moreover, I tutored for a course called U.S. Government and Public Policy. This course was a 200 level undergraduate course.
I have an Advanced Regents Diploma from Schenectady High School. My test taking skills are very methodical and are successful. I passed Regents exam subjects that include: trigonometry, algebra, English, chemistry, global history, U.S. history, and Spanish. Generally speaking, the majority of my test scores were either close to mastery level (85%) or beyond it.
