Hi, I'm Shivam! I graduated high school with honors, and am currently pursuing a computer science major along with a business minor at The Ohio State University. In high school, I especially enjoyed the classes where the instructor made challenging concepts easy to understand and the course material fun and intriguing to follow. I loved these classes because I never got bored of learning, as I wanted to keep expanding my knowledge of the subject. These well-taught classes really cultivated my passions for STEM, and I love sharing my knowledge on these subjects with students who are trying to learn from an experienced individual. I incorporate fun and creativity into my lessons in order to make a pleasant learning experience. Additionally, I use relevant examples that allow the student to see the significance of the material, as well as leave them with extra problems to work on that I think would boost their learning of the subject. I am very adaptive and teach in the way that best compliments the student’s learning.
In high school, I was triple advanced math and finished multivariable calculus and linear algebra. I took AP physics M, BC calculus, AP stats, and received a 5 on all exams. I have received a perfect score (800/800) on the SAT math section three times and graduated with departmental honors in mathematics.
My teaching experience ranges from ages 10-18, and I’ve been teaching for 6+ years. I was an assistant teacher for a two-week course and taught three hours a day at an elementary school with classes of about 10-15 students. I taught students in groups the fundamentals of programming through hands-on teaching. In addition to group teaching, I’ve taught students one-on-one on SAT/ACT math prep. As I have taken these tests numerous times (scoring 1500+), I know them inside-out, and my students will leave with the knowledge they need to score high.
