Thank you for checking out my profile! I have 6 years of experience teaching middle school fine art, art history, and art criticism in a charter school in Troy, NY. I also have experience running enrichment programs, tutoring fellow teachers' children, designing and executing art shows, and have a leadership position for grade 6. My philosophy is that by instilling integrity and diligence into the child's routine, he/she will have the tools to become successful in not only the arts, but in every aspect of their lives. Learning to practice good judgment in and around art materials, as well as developing thoughtful and constructive language when talking to or about someone else or their art work provides students the necessary means to become proactive, successful and independent in the future. Integrating these techniques through high-quality art lessons brings about a rich, well-rounded academic life for all children.
I strongly believe that by encouraging students to take risks in the classroom, working with diligence, and pushing through challenges with a positive attitude, all children will develop the tools necessary to reach their full potential.
I hope to hear from you - thank you! Hello!

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have a BFA in fine art from Alfred University, where I took a variety of drawing courses. I received my Master's Degree in Art Education. I have taught grades 5-8 for the past 6 years in fine art, where students are taught technical drawing skills. I also produce pet portrait artwork for clients when the opportunity arises.
